Microsoft Project Video Blog Tutorial

This post is labeled under Software Development

Managing series of tasks on a given project is a horrendous job if one has no tool to track it. Often, project managers who rely on their skills of guess-timate receive all the blame at the end on mostly delayed, expensive projects.

Microsoft Project is a project management tool that can generate Gantt charts, Resource schedule/usage and listing of project cost. It is an effective ally to pinpoint critical paths that may affect the overall implementation of the project. Milestones can be clearly highlighted to emphasize important events that serve as the target date to complete.

The video blog comes in two parts. The first part discusses Microsoft Project 2003 initial setup of tasks, milestones, project start date and predecessors. It already discusses a working example on how to use Microsoft Project.

The last part shows how to assign predecessors to task effectively. It includes also how Microsoft Project 2003 adjusts working time and tags holidays in between your working calendar. The video presentation shows also how to print the gantt chart and adjust its views.
