555 Astable Multivibrator Timer Circuit

This post is labeled under Digital Design

One of the essentials in designing sequential circuits such as counters, memory circuits is to understand how a clock signal is generated.

Typical application of 555 Timer is to generate a square-wave oscillation signals needed by digital circuits. The following experiment generates a regular train of pulses that act as clock pulses. It also gives a glimpse of how capacitors work to explain how charge and discharge take place in the circuit.
